Patricia Alba, LCSW

Patricia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working in various non-profit organizations in the areas of program development, administration, training, and clinical practice. For the last 15 years, Patricia has specialized in treatment of trauma. A native of Mexico, Patricia has spent her career advocating for equity in mental health access, treatment excellence, and mental health parity, especially for immigrant communities. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and she is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Master in Social Work Program.

 

As a Founder of Alba-Walker Life Strategies, Patricia has full oversight of Clinical Care within the corporation while making sure that every client is given access to wonderful therapeutic services with the most up to date treatment modalities. Alongside her partner, she assists in the ongoing development of the corporation, strategic planning, establishing new revenue streams, and ongoing expansion of AWLS services statewide.

Todd Walker, LCSW

Todd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been in the field of social work for 15 years. Spending the bulk of his career in non-profit management working in Los Angeles and Ventura County, Todd developed a passion for removing barriers for access to care while ensuring that every client has access to, and deserves, excellent mental health services. Throughout his career in social services, he gained experience in all levels of care including residential treatment, transitional housing, and outpatient services within the social service system. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Master in Social Work Program, where he completed a concentration in children and families as well as a sub-concentration in public child welfare. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.

 

As a Founder of Alba-Walker Life Strategies, Todd is responsible for the fiscal management of the corporation while assisting his partner in strategic planning, establishing private and public revenue streams, and ongoing expansion of AWLS services into communities of need within California.

Donna Lozano, LMFT

Clinical Liaison

Donna has over twelve years experience working in a wide variety of settings with varying age groups. Her primary area of focus has been residential substance abuse treatment for both teens and adults with a specialty in childhood trauma.

 

She is skilled in working with teens experiencing eating disorders and veterans suffering from PTSD. She approaches therapy from a client-centered viewpoint, building on strengths that clients and their families already have in order to help them deal with life stressors. She is also comfortable with incorporating faith as an effective coping skill.

Donna is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Shelby Silverman, MSW-ACSW

Operations Manager

Shelby is an Associate Clinical Social Worker with five years of experience working with children, teens, elderly, and families. Serving as the Operations Manager of AWLS, Shelby assists in overseeing the financial performance of the corporation by supervising billing and insurance claims. She has a passion for organization management and program development alongside clinical social work. She is also a passionate environmental activist and artist.  

 

Shelby is a graduate of California State University, Northridge’s Master of Social Work program. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge with double minors in Gerontology and Family Studies.

Perla Ponce

Billing Specialist

Perla has been working in the mental health field for over 19 years. She has worked as an intake coordinator in nonprofit organizations that provide mental health services to under privileged youth, families, and children who are in the foster care system. Perla was responsible for establishing the first contact with the client and their families, processing their insurance, managing referrals and court documents, and linking them with their therapist.  

 

Serving as the Billing Specialist of AWLS, Perla is responsible for the posting, reconciliation, and management of patient account payments. She oversees the daily operations of billing and insurance claims.

Sidney Brown

Executive Assistant

Sidney provides high-level support for executive management and interfaces with the public in a professional and friendly manner. She has been working in the Mental Health field for five years in organizations serving children and families, such as The Children's Center of the Antelope Valley, Looking Glass Children's Services, and Virginia Avenue Park.

Sidney is continuing her educational endeavors in the Psychology field, and she enjoys reading, making jewelry, and stargazing.
