Patricia Alba, LCSW
Patricia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience working in various non-profit organizations in the areas of program development, administration, training, and clinical practice. For the last 15 years Patricia has specialized in treatment of trauma. A native of Mexico, Patricia has spent her career advocating for equity in mental health access, treatment excellence, and mental health parity, especially for immigrant communities.
Patricia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California.
Todd Walker, LCSW
Todd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience working with children, teens, and families in all levels of care. Todd also developed his own private practice and consulting firm, and has provided LGBTQ+ trainings to teachers, parents, and students in the neighboring communities of Los Angeles and Ventura County.
Todd is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Master in Social Work Program, where he completed a concentration in children and families as well as a sub-concentration in public child welfare. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.

Betina Steiger, MA, AMFT
Betina has over fifteen years experience working in a wide variety of settings with varying age groups. Her primary area of focus has been organization management, team building, substance abuse treatment for adults, and parenting & early childhood education.
Betina Steiger is a graduate of Antioch University, Los Angeles with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master’s in Nonprofit Management.
Donna Lozano, LMFT
Manager – Associate
Donna has over twelve years experience working in a wide variety of settings with varying age groups. Her primary area of focus has been residential substance abuse treatment for both teens and adults with a specialty in childhood trauma.
She is skilled in working with teens experiencing eating disorders and veterans suffering from PTSD. She approaches therapy from a client-centered viewpoint, building on strengths that clients and their families already have in order to help them deal with life stressors. She is also comfortable with incorporating faith as an effective coping skill.
Donna is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Krystal Handy, LMFT
Manager – Licensed
Krystal has been a Marriage and Family Therapist for nearly eight years, serving children and families in community mental health settings. Prior to joining AWLS, Krystal coordinated programs for Multicultural Services and Student Programs at a community college. She oversaw budgets and developed programs central but not limited to: leadership development, cultural awareness, navigating the higher education system and building community partners for the main campus and two satellite campuses which served roughly 13,000 students from every walk of life.
She is a PhD Candidate at Northcentral University. Her dissertation research is currently focused on Marriage and Family Therapists and their experience in community mental health settings. She's expected to graduate with a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020.
Sandra has been working in the mental health field for 15 years in organizations serving children and families, such as Counseling 4 Kids, Pacific Lodge Youth Services, and El Nido Family Services. At AWLS, Sandra provides high-level support for executive management on all areas of operation, including billing, communicating with vendors, and managing multiple schedules. She analyzes and maintains organizational documentation, provides efficient and timely assistance to staff members of departments, and interfaces with the public in a professional and friendly manner.
Sidney provides high-level support for executive management and interfaces with the public in a professional and friendly manner. She has been working in the Mental Health field for five years in organizations serving children and families, such as The Children's Center of the Antelope Valley, Looking Glass Children's Services, and Virginia Avenue Park.
Sidney is continuing her educational endeavors in the Psychology field, and she enjoys reading, making jewelry, and stargazing.
Blanca Lopez has over ten years of customer service experience and over five years of front-desk registration experience. She has worked with non-profit organizations that provided mental health services for children and families such as Penny Lane and The Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley. Blanca has also worked in an educational role as a teacher, and as a provider of maternal mental health support as part of a home visitor program that prioritized postpartum care. Blanca enjoys serving her community to provide awareness and insight to resources that promote positive mental health and the great impact it has on the entire family structure. Her Mexican-American heritage has given her insight to enjoy and savor both cultures to the fullest.
